1902 in Gythio ... . Our grandfather Ilias Manolakos launched his "Pastileserie", having worked hard about 20 years in order to study, as he said significantly, the profession of "honey-cook".

Asking him about his recipe's origination, he cited Homer and Iliad, explaining that Pasteli is referred as "Intrion", some pie with honey and sesame seeds, eaten by Hellenes to be able to take the punishments of war.

We, now in fourth generation, continue the tradition, preparing Pasteli on the marble workbench left by our Grandfather, of course carrying out always exactly the recipe of "Uncle Ilias".
